Pellet Press

Description

A hydraulic pellet press is a precision laboratory instrument designed to compress powdered samples into solid, uniform pellets, typically ranging from 7 to 40 mm in diameter. These pellets are essential for analytical techniques such as X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR).
Using manual or automated hydraulic pressure, presses with capacities from 2 to over 40 tons produce high-density, homogeneous samples, ensuring reliable and accurate material analysis.

Capabilities

  • Sample Preparation
Ideal for producing pellets for FTIR (KBr pellets) and XRF analysis, including cement, minerals, ores, and other powdered materials.
  • Wide Pressure Range
Available in capacities from approximately 2.5 tons for portable models up to 40+ tons for laboratory applications.
  • High Uniformity & Consistency
Delivers uniform, high-pressure compaction for smooth-surfaced, crack-free, and homogeneous pellets.
  • Versatile Configuration
Compatible with a variety of die sizes and materials; select models support heated platens for specialized or temperature-dependent applications.
