Next-Generation Sequencing Services
The Molecular Analysis Core provides short-read next-generation sequencing services using the Illumina NextSeq 2000 platform. Researchers are encouraged to consult with MAC staff before beginning a project to ensure that sequencing strategy, sample requirements, library preparation, and expected data output can successfully achieved.
Illumina NextSeq 2000
The Illumina NextSeq 2000 is a high-throughput sequencing platform capable of supporting a broad range of DNA and RNA sequencing applications. Flexible flow cell configurations allow projects to be scaled according to sample number and sequencing depth requirements.
Sequencing applications supported by the Molecular Analysis Core may include: amplicon sequencing, microbial community profiling such as 16S rRNA sequencing, DNA barcoding, whole-genome sequencing, and RNA sequencing.
Project Consultation & Sequencing Support: The Molecular Analysis Core provides project-specific consultation to help researchers develop sequencing workflows that align with their research objectives.
Project Consultation: Researchers are encouraged to meet with MAC staff before sample collection or experimental setup. Consultation may include recommendations for sample collection and preservation, nucleic acid extraction strategies, quality-control requirements, library preparation, sequencing approaches, and project planning.
Sequencing Project Support: MAC staff can assist researchers throughout the sequencing workflow, from initial project design and sample quality assessment through library preparation and sequencing. Support is tailored to the needs and scope of each research project.
